The Missing Link in Kenya’s Financial Sector Reforms

The Digest looks into the situation of Unclaimed Financial Assets in Kenya, and reveals that there is no legal framework in place to handle unclaimed financial assets. It provides best practices on how to handle such assets by looking at how other countries including the United States, United Kingdom, New zealand and Australia have provided mechanisms to unite the assets with their rightful owners.  The Digest was published in 2010, before the Unclaimed Financial Assets, 2011 was passed by Parliament and enacted by the President in December, 2011.
