WHO WE ARE
The International Institute for Legislative Affairs (IILA) is a not- for- profit organization that works closely with Policy making institutions, Government Departments, Members of Parliament and other stakeholders in the legislative process to draft and advocate for pro- people policies and legislation.

IILA’s mandate is to engage stakeholders in the policy and legislative process to facilitate the enactment and implementation of policies and legislation that have a positive impact on the lives of people.

LOOKING AHEAD: Strategic objectives for 2016- 2020
Beginning 2016, IILA is implementing a new strategic plan 2016- 2020 which is intended to strengthen our engagement in the new constitutional dispensation, both at national and county level. We will specifically focus on the strategic objectives below:
1. To conduct unique and quality research and analyses on legislative issues that informs the development, implementation and monitoring of the impact of legislation
2. To facilitate drafting and review of current and/ or proposed policies and legislation
3. To build the capacity of law making institutions and relevant stakeholders to effectively undertake their roles in the legislative process
4. To design and implement effective advocacy strategies that support the development, adoption, implementation and evaluation of legislation in our areas of strategic interest
